About this site

Why I created this space and what drives this mission.

Why This Matters

Before my mother met my father and had me, she was a victim of domestic violence. Even though she escaped that situation and found safety, the effects of that abuse followed her for decades.

Growing up, I witnessed the triggers that would transport her back to those dark moments. A raised voice, a sudden movement, certain tones—they could shift her entire demeanor in an instant. The trauma had carved itself so deeply into her being that it became part of how she moved through the world, always watching, always guarding herself against threats that were no longer there.

This year, I lost my mother. Her passing made me realize how many people are still trapped in situations she escaped from, and how many more are living with the invisible scars that never fully heal.

That's when I knew I had to do something. I want to do as much as I can to help inform others—to provide the resources, support, and information that might help someone escape, heal, or simply feel less alone in their struggle.

This isn't about having all the answers. It's about creating a space where people can find reliable information, connect with resources, and know that someone understands the complexity of what they're going through.

The Mission

The mission is simple: ensure that no one feels alone or without options when facing domestic violence. Whether someone is currently in danger, healing from past trauma, or trying to help a loved one, they deserve access to clear, reliable information and support.

This site aims to be a trusted resource that provides practical tools, legal information, and pathways to help. It's about breaking down barriers to support and making sure help is always within reach.

Every person affected by domestic violence deserves to feel supported, understood, and equipped to take their next steps forward—whatever those steps might be.
